Ulises Carrión (1941-1989) was a conceptual artist and writer. He has been called "perhaps Mexico’s most important conceptual artist."〔de la Torre, Monica. After studying philosophy and literature at the National University of Mexico, he was awarded grants for further study in Paris, France; Leeds, England; and Germany throughout the 1960s.〔Conwell, Donna.
